Martyrs' Park Station (Chinese: 烈士陵园站) is a station of Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 28 June 1997. It is located at the underground of the junction of Zhongshan 3rd Road (Chinese: 中山三路; pinyin: Zhongshan Sanlu) and Jiaochang Road East (Chinese: 较场东路; pinyin: Jiaochang Donglu; literally "Drill Ground East Road") in Yuexiu District. It is named as "Martyrs' Park Station" because of the nearby Guangzhou Martyrs' Memorial Garden or Guangzhou Martyrs' Memorial Cemetery (Chinese: 广州起义烈士陵园), a park dedicated to those who fought and died in the Guangzhou Uprising by the Chinese communists against the Kuomintang in 1927.[1][2]
